Rakhni ASO seizes 40,000 liters of smuggled diesel along with 3 vehicles

RAKHNI: The Anti Smuggling Squad Rakhni check post Quetta seized 40,000 liters of smuggled diesel along with three vehicles carrying Iranian petroleum products.

Information was received by Collector Preventive Quetta Iftikhar Ahmad that huge quantity of  diesel will be smuggled through Rakhni Customs check post Quetta.

Pursuing above information, Additional Collector Preventive Yasir Kalhoor and Assistant Collector Umair Rana formed a Customs squad led by Superintendent Saleem Bukgti and Inspector Anser Mehmood who seized three trucks with the help of FC (Frontier Constabulary). The vehicles carried smuggled diesel so the squad asked them to show legal documents of loaded diesel but the smugglers failed to provide any legal evidence.

Sources told that mostly smugglers tried to transport foreign origin POL products through far-flung areas, adding that after seizing the three trucks loaded with huge quantity of smuggled diesel, the squad brought vehicles along with diesel to Customs House Quetta. Value of 4000 liters of diesel including three trucks is estimated at Rs 10 million.

Sources told case has been registered under Customs Act 1969 while further investigation is underway, adding that Chief Collector Balochistan Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary and Collector MCC Quetta appreciated Customs squad of check post Rakhani to make successful seizure of smuggled goods.
