LAHORE: The Punjab Rangers have foiled an attempt to smuggle alcohol from India to Pakistan in Kasur border area.
Sources informed Customs Today that the Punjab Rangers observed some suspicious activities on the border line during their routine patrolling. They found three suspects who were trying to cross the international border near Mandi Usman Wala, Kasur.
The Rangers team faced retaliation while stopping the accused persons. One accused was killed during the cross-firing between the smugglers and Rangers and his two accomplices fled away by taking advantage of darkness . The Rangers also recovered weapons from the dead smuggler.
