LAHORE: Punjab Rangers arrested a police constable who was allegedly involved in smuggling of heroin to India. The estimated value of the heroin is Rs 10 million.
Sources told Customs Today that security agencies have recovered drugs, weapons and Indian passports during raid at a police constable’s house in Lahore near Wagha border. The accused is identified as police constable namely Nadeem, who is employee in investigation department of Defense B police station.
Sources said that the accused was arrested from in Batapur area on charges of collaborating with a gang for smuggling drugs to India.
Police have also recovered three kilograms of heroin, several passports, two Indian mobile SIMs and weapons from his possession.
The suspect has been shifted to unknown place for further interrogation, whereas, raids are being conducted in the area to nab his accomplices.
