Rasheed inaugurates second freight train from Karachi

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Friday inaugurated second freight train from Karachi.

Talking with media, Rashid said that his ministry will run 20 freight trains this year. He said the railways department will be run according to the aspirations of the people.

The minister said that a meeting on the ML-I will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday. All railway tracks from Karachi to Peshawar will be restored and maintained, he further said. Sheikh Rashid claimed that the railways has saved one million liters of oil in past four months.

Railways Minister said that a VIP train for general public will be inaugurated on March 23 adding that common people should also be given facilities, which being enjoyed by the elite.

He said his ministry will setup a command and control room in Lahore. The minister also promised to lay the network of railways in Sindh. As Pakistan Railway will run so will run the economy of the country, he said. Rashid said that the trains will help to get rid of pollution from roads.

He requested the oresident to award a medal of service to a boy Mudassir, who has provided free of cost trackers to the railways department.
