Ayyan Ali’s case: Rawalpindi bench forwards bail plea of suspect to LHC

ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court has forwarded the application of Muhammad Awais, allegedly involved in selling and purchasing of plots owned by model Ayyan Ali, against arrest warrants to LHC for further hearing.

The case will be heard on July 2, 2015 by the LHC to decide the case.

As per details, Muhammad Awais and Mumtaz were brought into the investigation by the Federal Board of Revenue on the revelations of model Ayyan. According to the model, she received $500,000 by selling her property.

On the information of Ayyan, the joint investigation team of the FBR contacted the said persons to help the department in the investigations but they did not extend their hands on which the team contacted Customs Court to issue the arrest warrants against Mumtaz.

After the appeal of the JIT, Customs Court issued arrest warrants of the Muhammad Awais.

Sources told that Awais and Mumtaz run real estate businesses, while both have residence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
