ISLAMABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi earned Rs200 million of revenue by conducting public auctions of non-duty paid vehicles and miscellaneous seized smuggled goods from January to December 2019.
Sources told Customs Today that from January to December 2019 the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation held four auctions of smuggled goods and vehicles following the Customs Act of 1969.
The sources told that the I&I Rawalpindi sold 24 vehicles out of 27 number along with miscellaneous smuggled goods in worth Rs96 million. The vehicles includes BMW 7 series 2003, BMW 735 Li car 2003 , Honda City car 1995, Toyota Corolla car 1995, used Mercedes Benz car 1994, Toyota Hilux Surf 2004, Toyota Mark-X car 2011, Toyota land cruiser cegnus 2004, Toyota crown car 2004, Toyota Hilux Surf 1998 and many others.
The sources further notified that during month of September 2019 the I&I Rawalpindi in which it earned Rs51 million and sold 18 vehicles including various smuggled goods while third auction was conducted in month of May 2019 where the Directorate was grab Rs19.453 million by auctioning 10 vehicles including smuggle goods as well as during month of January it was sold 19 vehicles in public auction and earned Rs.81.324 million of revenue, it is worth mentioning here that the I&I Rawalpindi was earned total revenue during calendar year 2019 in worth of Rs.247.778 million the sources concluded.
