RAWALPINDI: The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and investigation Rawalpindi have seized Rs.60 millions of smuggled goods during month of January February 2022
Under directions of the Director General Customs Intelligence Abdul Rasheed the Directorate of Rawalpindi showed outstanding performance during above said period, the Directorate made dozens of seizures against tax evaders the Additional Director Kanwal Ali told Customs Today that it is our responsibility to cope with the illegal activities of tax evasion for sack of promotion of legal business.
Telling the details of some important seizures she said that the I&I Rawalpindi seized a Hino truck trailer bearing name plate of Kabul (Afghanistan) the truck was loaded with smuggled items like cashew nut, almond, coconut hair oil etc.
Another 10 wheeler truck was seized which was bearing name plate of Quetta it was fully loaded with foreign origin of dry fruit, the Rawalpindi I&I also seized a Nissan truck with container, the vehicle was fully loaded with smuggled items comprising Confectionary items, face wash, creams tec.
On 15th January the I&I staff seized another 14 wheeler truck with container, the vehicle was bearing registration no of Swat (KPK) which was loaded with smuggled goods like polyester dyed pile fabric.
Likewise on intelligence information the staff seized bed ford truck with name plate of Kohat it was loaded with smuggled items i.e cardamom, cashew nut, almond while during another seizer the staff seized foreign origin smuggled crockery and carpets as well as the Rawalpindi I&I staff seized a 40 feet container which was containing miscellaneous smuggled goods like skimmed milk, crockery confectionery items and carpets.
All offending vehicles (vehicles those use for carrying smuggled goods) along with smuggled goods also seized and adjudication process is under way the Additional Director Kanwal Ali informed.
