Rawalpindi I&I seizes narcotics worth Rs6m near Islamabad Motorway

ISLAMABAD:  Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Rawalpindi has seized 21 kilogram of chars worth Rs6 million.

According to details it was informed by sources of Directorate of Customs (I&I) Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi that huge quantity of narcotics will be smuggled via motorway, following the information Director I&I Asghar Khan constituted a  squad under the supervision of Deputy Director Ubaid Ullah.

The squad made nakabandi at 26 number Chungi near Islamabad Motorway, the squad signal a truck bearing registration No.C-1759 who ignore the signals and gear up the speed of truck while squad follow the vehicle whereas after some miles the driver of truck stopped the truck on side of road and fled away in to near jungle getting advantage of darkness.

The squad perused the smuggler but all in vain, meanwhile the I&I anti smuggling squad seized the truck and in presence of witnesses made thoroughly search of the seized vehicle and found 21 kilogram of chars which was skillfully conceal in the body of the Bedford truck.

The squad seized the truck which was carrying narcotics and bring it to the SWH (state ware house) and lodge an FIR against the unknown smugglers whereas further investigation is underway.
