Talking to the delegation, Commissioner Rawalpindi Gulzar Hussain said that the business community and private sector is an important pillar of the country’s economy. Under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, work on the city’s master plan is underway aiming to encourage vertical as opposed to horizontal urban growth in order to conserve green space. He said that as per the instructions of the Punjab chief minister, work has been started on the fresh alignment of Rawalpindi Ring Road. Necessary amendments are being introduced in the Land Acquisition Act to ensure timely completion of development projects, he added. The city of Rawalpindi has become densely populated. Under the REIT model, we can solve parking, hospital and industry problems by developing high-rise buildings. This model is successful in developed countries.
