RCCI delegation meets DG Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority

RAWALPINDI: A delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), led by its President Usman Shaukat and Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, met with Director General of the Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority (CCRA), Major General (Retd.) Zafarullah Khan, to discuss opportunities for investment and economic growth in emerging sectors.

Director Operations CCRA, Asif Haroon, along with his team, was also present during the meeting.

The discussions focused on exploring business opportunities in the cannabis and other emerging sectors, promoting investment, strengthening regulatory cooperation and initiating collaborative efforts aimed at supporting Pakistan’s economic development. Both sides emphasized the importance of creating awareness regarding the regulatory framework governing the sector and highlighted the need to organize seminars, workshops, and awareness sessions across the country to facilitate informed policymaking and stakeholder engagement.

The participants agreed that the development of new economic sectors through an effective regulatory framework, active private-sector participation and investor-friendly policies can significantly contribute to economic growth, attract investment, and generate employment opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Usman Shaukat reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote economic development, investment, and sustainable business growth. He assured the CCRA of the business community’s full cooperation in advancing emerging industries and creating a conducive environment for investors.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue collaboration and engage stakeholders in promoting innovation, investment, and economic diversification in Pakistan.
