RCCI inaugurates Global Entrepreneurship Week

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) in collaboration with its 14 partner universities kicked off Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) here.

Speaking on the occasion, the president RCCI, Zahid Latif Khan said that GEW will help students to focus themselves on job creators instead of job seekers. It’s a great opportunity for youth to participate in interactive sessions, training workshops to learn about success stories, innovative ideas and enhance their knowledge about entrepreneurship. He said that RCCI has taken the initiative to be a part of global entrepreneurship week as a step to facilitate youth, develop stronger private sector, assist the innovators and support the idea of entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. He emphasized on universities to provide such opportunities so that students can polish their skills and knowledge about entrepreneurship.

President RCCI, Zahid Latif Khan said that RCCI has taken multiple initiatives to motivate students and attract them towards entrepreneurship.

Students now are very keen to learn E-commerce, mobile apps and blogging. He asked students to develop skills and knowledge and contribute to the prosperity of their country.

“We hope that our efforts of strengthening Industry – Academia linkages will prove to be fruitful and we will see better and more entrepreneurs in future”, he further added.

Ms Rahat Kaunain Hassan, Chairperson Women on Board Pakistan said that commitment, ethics, and good governance are the need of hour and Pakistan needs full support of the business community to foster entrepreneurship. Tahir Mahmood Chaudhry, President and CEO Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship and Ms. Shazia Nasir, public speech counselor and motivational speaker discussed various aspects of entrepreneurship, financing, entrepreneurial culture, innovation and business technology leadership and corporatization in Pakistan.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Nasir Mirza, Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, former presidents Dr. Shimail Daud, members of the executive committee and a large number of universities students attended the ceremony. Later president RCCI performed a cake cutting ceremony. The event would conclude on November18.
