RCCI inks MOU with Pakistan Stock Exchange

RAWALPINDI:  The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). President RCCI Raja Amer Iqbal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haroon Askeri signed and exchange documents at a ceremony attended by group leader RCCI Sheikh Muhammad Shabir, Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Rashid Waien, Former President Kashif Shabbir and member executive committee Zahid Latif Khan, among others.

While commenting on the occasion, RCCI President Raja Amer Iqbal said that the major objective of this MOU was to develop opportunities to exchange information and expertise pertaining to Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector.

Both parties, RCCI and PSX, will increase cooperation and coordination to explore ways and means to initiate business support programs and project for SMEs. Under the agreement, both parties will assist each other in organizing joint events, conferences, seminars, research and development, information sharing and workshops.

Haroon Askari on this occasion appreciated the role of RCCI in promoting business activities in the region. He said that it was mutually agreed that PSX and RCCI would hold joint awareness sessions to promote the SME Board.

Representatives of SECP and brokerage houses would be invited to take part in such awareness sessions, he added. The feasibility studies would later be shared with investors throughout Pakistan who are interested in investing in local businesses.
