RCCI serves as a platform for the business community to solve their problems, Nadeem Rauf

RAWALPINDI: Nadeem Rauf, President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has said that the chamber serves as a platform for the entire business community from where their problems are not only communicated to the government but also resolved. Issues related to installation of Point of Sale (POS), encroachments, board tax, sales tax and property tax will be resolved in collaboration with the concerned government agencies. Trade associations are the assets of the chamber and the chamber’s priority is to take stakeholders on board.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Rawalpindi Cantonment led by President Sheikh Hafeez. The delegation also included Zafar Qadri, Munir Mughal, Mushtaq Khan, Saqib Rafique, Rashid Waein, Hassan Mustafa and other members. Also present on the RCCI Group Leader Sohail Altaf, former presidents Manzar Khurshid, Raja Amir Iqbal, Zahid Latif Khan, senior vice president Asim Malik, vice president Talat Awan, executive members and members of the chamber were also present on the occasion.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

Group leader Sohail Altaf said the chamber stands with the business community. The Chamber will send a representative if there is any meeting of the Anjuman-e-Tajiran with top officials, government and administrative officials. Stakeholder consultation is essential.

Speaking on the occasion, Anjuman-e-Tajiran Rawalpindi Cantt President Sheikh Hafeez congratulated President Nadeem Rauf and other officials on assuming office and expressed confidence in the capabilities of the new team. He said that the role of the Chamber in resolving the problems of the business community of the region could not be forgotten, adding that the Chamber acts as a bridge between the government and the business community which helps the business community to raise their voice.

“The biggest issue right now is POS,” he said. Notices are also being issued to tea stalls and mobile shops which are outside this category. He also made suggestions for reducing traffic congestion in Sadar Cantt, parking, encroachments and building sidewalks, and other tax issues.
