RCCI urges govt to take measures for economic uplift: Malik Shahid Saleem

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Malik Shahid Saleem has said that documentation of economy is vital for economic uplift and urged the government to introduce amendments in laws so that registration of income tax filing can be made hassle free.

Addressing a training session on Registration and Filing of Income Tax Return & How to Import &Export he said the documentation of economy will be the only solution to meet the challenges of falling exports.

He urged government to expedite on work on strategic trade policy framework which aimed at the proficient introduction of Pakistani products, improving regional connectivity and providing a friendly business environment. To meet the current challenge of falling exports there is a need to revise preferential list of items under free trade agreements and preferential trade agreements with neighbouring countries, he added. He also asked government to take traders and chamber of commerce on board while devising new economic policies and reforms.

Addressing participants, former president Kashif Shabbir said there is a need to adopt modern technics and provided a detail orientation on key factors linked with exports such as reduce dependence on single market, reduce cost through high volume sales, Counter activities from global competitors, Develop new business opportunities and Learn new techniques with Int’l competition. He also apprised audience on Market Penetration, Market Development, Product Development and Diversification.

Faraz Fazal also addressed the session and updated participants on income tax registration and filings annual tax returns.
