KARACHI: The special recovery cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Exports, in its ongoing crackdown on tax defaulters, has initiated a process to recover Rs 0.64 million from Sharifuddin Karachi.
The importer had failed to pay duties and taxes in clearance of his consignments and has to pay Rs 0.81 million in evaded duties and taxes. The special recovery cell has also frozen the bank account of the importer with the help of NADRA authorities.
Recovery officer Sardar Amin Farooqui has informed Customs Today that the process to recover the outstanding amount of Rs 0.263 million has been continuing.
