LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department’s Region A has recovered Rs 750 million in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2014-15.
According to Excise Region A high official, the region recovered Rs 61 million in January so the total amount collected in seven months (July-January) has reached Rs 750 million. The department has started issuing notices from the start of February stating that defaulters’ property would be sealed in case of non-payment of liable amounts by the due date.
The Excise and Taxation Department has increased the pace of recoveries after directives from senior officials. The excise secretary has directed officials to try to collect property tax without sealing properties.
