Registration to provide interest-free loans under CM’s Kissan Package starts

RAWALPINDI: Registration to provide interest-free loans has commenced under the Chief Minister’s Kissan Package 2016-17.

For registration purpose, farmers could visit land record centre during 4pm to 8pm with original CNIC, mobile number and detail of their land, said a press release on Sunday. First time tenants and contractors could also apply with the permission of owners. 0.5 million farmers having land of 12.5 acres would be provided loan of Rs 80 billion through smartphones.

Through this scheme, Rs 25,000 per acre would be provided for Rabi season crops and 40,000 would be provided for Kharif season crops. Smartphone would be provided for Rs 110 only. The farmers could take technical guidance, market prices, weather forecast, fertilizer and seed details on smart screen. Farmers are given facility to return loan in three installments.

The agricultural officers and staff would be bound to provide technical advices to farmers. Those falling in the eligibility criteria would be contacted through Zarai Tarqiati Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, National Rural Support Programme, Akhuwat and Tameer Bank for further processing.
