Rehmatullah Khan Wazir appointed as new FBR Member Inland Revenue Policy

ISLAMABAD: Rehmatullah Khan Wazir has been appointed as new FBR Member (Inland Revenue) Policy. He has replaced Shahid Hussain Asad who also had charge of Official Spokesperson of FBR.

Earlier, Rehmatullah Khan Wazir, an officer of Inland Revenue Services of BS-20, was transferred to the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) Karachi as chief commissioner IR on January 10, 2014. As a Chief Commissioner at LTU Karachi, he showed immense progress in revenue collection and introduced policies to widen the tax net. A large number of new taxpayers were brought into tax net in his tenure as Chief Commissioner.

He also performed his duties as chief commissioner IR, Regional Tax Office (RTO) Karachi. Wazir assumed the charge of chief commissioner RTO-I in July 2013 and posted significant growth of 45 percent in the revenue collection during the first half of the current fiscal year. Previously, he had also served as chief commissioner LTU Karachi for a long time.
