Rehmatullah urges FBR officers to enforce returns from non-filers

PESHAWAR: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member (Tax Payers Audit) Rehmatullah Wazir visited Peshawar Regional Tax Office (RTO).

The member was briefed on the selection and processing of audit cases for the last four years selected under Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, Sales Tax Act, 1990 and Federal Excise Act, 2005.

He was apprised about number of pending audit cases and their disposal so far. Chief Commissioner (IR), Mir Badshah Khan Wazir welcomed the member and thanked him for his visit to RTO Peshawar.

Talking on the occasion, the member emphasized on early disposal of cases. He urged upon the officers to enforce returns from non-filers and select their cases for detailed audit. He said that they should also take assistance from NADRA and PRAL in this regard. He emphasized that early disposal of cases would result in generation of revenue, which is essential for development of the country.

The meeting was attended by all officers of the RTO, Peshawar including Commissioner IR, Corporate Zone, Shah Khan, Commissioner IR, Peshawar Zone, Abid Mahmood, Commissioner IR, Mardan Zone, Tariq Bakhtiar and Commissioner IR, DI Khan Zone, Mohammad Ayaz and gave presentations regarding their respective zones. The appreciated various initiatives taken by the member in this regard.

Chief Commissioner IR, RTO, Peshawar assured the Member Tax Payers’ Audit that the timelines set for disposal of all pending audit cases will be observed strictly.
