KARACHI: The total liquid foreign exchange reserves of the country have been recorded at $17.491 billion during the week ending April 17, as compared to $16.818 billion of the last week.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the central bank’s reserves increased by $605 million to $12.364 billion from $11.759 billion, and the other banks’ holdings were $5.127 billion as compared to $5.059 billion.
The SBP said that the increase in reserves is mainly attributed to the receipts of privatisation proceeds of Habib Bank. During the week, the SBP made payments of $270m on account of external debt servicing and other official payments.
