KARACHI: Unable to justify his actions and mishandling of affairs of the department before the higher authorities, Port Qasim Deputy Collector Athar Naveed has started taking revenge on importers who complained against him in the first place.

Instead of putting his own house in order, DC Athar Naveed is now bent upon creating more hurdles in the way of importers.

DC Athar Naveed is supposed to hear cases between the appraiser and importers. If DC Athar himself is biased and is taking revenge, how can he give justice to importers, especially while hearing the cases?

Taking to Customs Today, most of the victim importers said that DC Athar Naveed needs to be shifted to a different group so that he does not hear the cases of those very importers who have complained against him.

They said that this behaviour of Athar Naveed has further cemented the belief that the deputy collector is taking out his personal frustrations on importers by making them a victim of his vendetta. They said that importers had been paying the price for DC Athar’s mental instability, adding that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) should not hire or retain mentally challenged employees.
