SOUTH PADRE ISLAND: A Border Patrol K-9 from the Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) team located the body of a 20-year-old man who went missing March 20.
The body of Jordan Britten was located in waist-deep water in a marshy area near the Schlitterbahn waterpark. Britten had reportedly traveled from Killeen to celebrate spring break on South Padre Island and went missing following a concert.
The South Padre Island Police Department reached out to the Border Patrol for help in the search. Border Patrol K-9 teams are highly trained and often help other agencies in a variety of ways such as searching for missing persons and tracking fugitives.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector is part of the South Texas Campaign, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
