Rich people will be taken into tax-net to increase revenue: Mujtaba Shuja

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that the government will impose tax only on the people who deserve to pay it and only those taxes will be increased which had not be increased for a long time.

He said this while addressing a meeting in Lahore here on Wednesday.

Shuja said that tax net will be broadened by bring tax evaders who have been leading a luxury life but not paying any tax. He said that in order to increase government revenue only rich people who were not paying taxes will be taken to task.

He declared that small theatre will not be imposed excise duty. Professional tax has not been increased for many years which need to be increase as a large number of professionals were giving only a few hundred rupees in taxes.
