Right way Trading Company imports solar panels on fake AEDB certificates

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement-West Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) has completed its investigation regarding the import of solar panels and found that Right way Trading Company use fake certificate of Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) while importing the consignments.

Reliable sources informed that the AIB team will complete its report during the current week and will present it to the concerned Additional Collector Nayyar Shafiq and Collector MCC Appraisement-West, Muhammad Saleem.

Sources further disclosed that the investigation being carried out by the AIB team has found that the importer Right way Trading Company has used fake permission certificate of Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) in import of solar panels units.

They further revealed that the Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) of MCC Appraisement-West will submit its findings to the Special Court of Customs and Taxation into the next hearing on April 28.

It is pertinent to mention here that the relevant court has ordered the customs authorities to investigate the matter and submit its report before the court on next hearing.

Responding upon the courts’ orders, the authorities concerned of MCC Appraisement-West has constituted a team of AIB/R&D comprising of Shair Khan and Anwar Zaib and asked them to go to Islamabad in order to investigate the case thoroughly and also check the veracity of permission certificate issued by AEDB.
