Rockstar fails to release Garnd Theft Auto V for PC, players must wait until April 14

NEW YORK: The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V was supposed to launch on March 24, but Rockstar has confirmed that it is pushing back the release for another month, until April 14. Meanwhile, Heists for GTA Online is scheduled for release on March 10, Rockstar said.

Gamers may recall that the PC version of GTA V was originally scheduled to come out on Jan. 27 — more than a year and a half after the game’s original release. Back in January, Rockstar said it would need more time, and now it’s pushing back the release date even further.

“Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC,” Rockstar said in a blog post.

As a peace offering, anyone who has pre-ordered the game will receive an additional $200,000 worth of in-game cash for use in GTA Online.

Rockstar said the upcoming PC version is the company’s “most graphically and technically advanced version yet.” The game will run at 1080p and 60fps with up to 4K resolution, and support up to three monitors.

Heists, meanwhile, will bring a brand new 4-player cooperative gaming experience to GTA Online, letting you team up to “pull off a string of intense, multi-part raids and robberies across Los Santos and Blaine County.” Rockstar promised to reveal more information about Heists over the next couple weeks, so stay tuned for that.

“We thank GTA players worldwide for their patience in awaiting these big game updates and we are excited to bring both Heists and GTA V for PC to you very soon,” the company said.
