WASHINGTON: Russian national operator Rostelecom has already passed more than 1 million households with its fibre-optic network in the Nizhny-Novgorod region, with 75,000 FTTB ports already available there. It brought 6,500 ports on stream in the first quarter of this year. It plans to cover every settlement in the region by its fibre network by the end of this year. Broadband at up to 100 Mbps and IPTV services will become available there.
