ISLAMABAD: The commuters of twin cities have to face problems as public transporters are violating their route permits in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
A number of long-route commuters waiting at Zero Point bus stop said that the transporters only board the passengers next stop. They said that public transport plying on routes No.1, 3, 21, 120 and 127 has made it a routine to pick only those commuters going to nearby stops.
The commuters also demanded that the route violations have become a regular practice due to the indifferent attitude of the authorities concerned.
An official of Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) said that commuters should register written complaints with the authorities. He said that the public transporters would not be allowed to route violations and overcharging. He said that on the complaints of commuters, the authority has taken strict action and impounded various vehicles and issued challans notices.
