ISLAMABAD (Tehlka TV Report): Corruption, pilferages and embezzlement have crossed Rs1.5 trillion in the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) in last four years, it has emerged.

According to sources, illegally-appointed PSO MD Sh Imranul Haque is the person, who made $90m for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif through current Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the LNG Terminal only in Engro. Sh Imranul Haque was then gifted the PSO MD position when he had no oil experience and amid huge conflict of interest. Then Musadik Malik was made PSO Board chairman to rampage the company alongside the MD and two notorious illegally placed DMD’s. To top it all, Ahad Cheema was made Director on the PSO Board, who started taking benefits as well as placing his people on various senior positions in the company. Pathetic results are adequate proof how badly the PSO was run in the past four years.

The PSO MD faces a case of murder of two contract employees in 2016-17 at PSO’s ZOT Terminal Pipri as he ordered to bypass safety procedures for urgent completion. Another recent suicide of GM Procurement Farhan Pasha, appointed last year on Ahad Cheema’s recommendation, was known to be a result of extreme pressure put on him for illegal awards by none other than MD Sh Imranul Haque and corruption mastermind DMD Finance Yacoob Sattar. The matter was hushed up.

Another illegal placement as DMD operations Is Jahangir Ali Shah, a highly corrupt, non-degree holder and incompetent with numerous cases with NAB and FIA. Shah is a cousin of Syed Naveed Qamar, who is a close friend of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. Everyone in the PSO and industry is surprised at the move of giving money-making departments to Shah known as an extremely corrupt person. Some even termed the move as pre-poll rigging by allowing a known PPP jiyala to loot as much as possible before 2018 elections.
