Rs 1.5b default: PRA seals Telenor head office located in Walton Lahore

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed head office of M/s Telenor Pakistan as the company had failed to pay Rs 1.5 billion under the head of sales tax.

Sources told Customs Today that a team of Punjab Revenue Authority sealed the head office of Telenor located at Walton Road on Thursday. Sources said that Punjab Revenue Authority had issued a final notice to Telenor to pay their outstanding taxes of Rs 1.5 billion but company failed to pay that amount. On Thursday, a special team of PRA sealed the office of M/s Telenor.

It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday PRA has also sent a final notice to Pakistan Railways to pay their tax of Rs 465 million.

According to details available to customs today The Punjab Revenue Authority has issued a notice to Pakistan Railways on Wednesday. Punjab revenue authority has issued this notice for sales tax on freight services of Pakistan Railways. Sources said that Pakistan Railway has to pay huge amount of Rs 465 million tax to PRA.

PRA has also warned Pakistan railways to pay their tax otherwise action will be taken under Punjab Sales Tax Ordinance of 2011.
