FBR recovers Rs 2m after attaching bank accounts of M/s Butt Sweets

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has attached the bank accounts of a renowned sweets and bakers on Friday. The FBR has taken this action against M/s Butt Sweets Lakshmi Chowk and recovered Rs 2 million after attaching their bank accounts.

Sources told Customs Today on Friday that a team of FBR attached the bank accounts of the Butt Sweets Lakshmi Chowk and recovered Rs 2 million. Sources said that the FBR had issued many notices to the company for payment of income tax for the year of 2015 but the management did not pay any attention to the notices.

Now FBR has deducted the amount of Rs 2 million from bank accounts of the sweets and bakery manufacturing brand Butt Sweets.  Sources said that action was taken by the deputy commissioner Abdul Rauf Mayo and Inspector Muzaffar Ali after attaching their bank account in bank Alfalah Hall Road branch.

In another action FBR has also recovered Rs1.1 million from bank account of a construction company M/s Kinetic Engineering Private Limited against income tax. FBR sources said that M/s Kinetic Engineering Private Limited is  defaulter of income tax from 2014. Company was served many notices but the company did not submit its tax returns from 2014.

M/s Kinetic Engineering has its office at Tufail Road Lahore Cantt and FBR has taken this action after attaching its account in Standard Chartered Bank Tufail Road Cantonment branch.

FBR Inspector Waqas Shah and Zahoor Elahi conducted this action against M/s Kinetic engineering on directions of assistant commissioner Shehryar Bahawal.

Earlier the Federal Board of Revenue has also issued notices to number of construction companies and consulting firms regarding construction.

All of the notices were served against the shortage if income tax statements from fiscal year of 2014 to 2016.
