ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Defence Khawaja Asif has said that the government is taking sound steps to address the issue of the shortage of petrol in Pakistan.
Talking to journalists outside the Parliament House, the minister said that the government has started to pay the debt of Pakistan State Oil (PSO). The state institutions are under debt of Rs 200 billion, he said. To a query, he said that the demand of petroleum products has increased after the suspension of supply to CNG stations. He hoped the situation would normalise in a few days.
