LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) set aside the Elevated Express Way project and a notification issued for land acquisition under section 17 (4) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. The Environment Protection Department was against the construction of the project.

The Punjab government has failed to establish the urgency reasons behind the project under which the land was being acquired from the residents of the area to build ‘Elevated Express Way’.
