Rs 2b project: PR to restore Sibi-Khost section

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced to restore Sibi-Khost section at cost of Rs 2 billion within 18 months.

The work on the project has already been initiated and will be restored with support of the National Logistic Cell (NLC), official sources in the Ministry of Railways told APP on Tuesday. They said that Sibbi, Harnai, Khost section of the Pakistan Railways was destroyed by the extremists, who destroyed eight bridges due to which million of people of area were deprived of the only suitable way of transportation.

Pakistan Railways has made a payment of Rs 130 million through a cheque to NLC as a first instalment of the contract, they added.

With the restoration of the section, the people of the areas will not only be facilitated by passengers and freight trains operation but also improve the economic condition of the areas. They said that the section was consisted of eight railway stations in the area and length of the section was around 133 kilo meters.
