FBR lodges FIR against Sheikh Steel Mill for alleged sales tax evasion of Rs 36m

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) Investigation and Prosecution section has lodged an FIR against owners of Sheikh Steel Mill for evading Rs 36 million sales tax for the year 2010-11, sources told Customs Today here Wednesday.

According to the sources, owners of Sheikh Steel Mill committed to pay sales tax liabilities but they failed to do the same.

The RTO Investigation and Prosecution section on the instructions of Chief commissioner Waqar Ahmad registered FIR against Sheikh Saqib and Sheikh Shahid Mukhtar.

The sources said that the FBR officials have been raiding to arrest the accused persons to recover sales tax from them. The sources said that the company is defaulter of FBR and it was holding its office at Badami Bagh earlier and the same has been removed from the market.
