Rs 90m tax evasion: RTO-I bans Bahir Pipe Industries from importing steel

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) Lahore has restricted M/S Bashir Pipe Industries involved in tax evasion to the tune of Rs 90 million, from import activities.

As per details, Commissioner RTO-I Inland Revenue Asim Majeed issued many notices to the steel mills Directors Hashim and Zubair for the payment of taxes payable by him but they did not respond to any notice.

Therefore, Commissioner Asim Majeed imposed ban on the imports by Bashir Pipe Industries on non-payment of taxes despite issuance of many reminder notices, while he has sent notices to customs collectorates all over the country, in this regard.

After imposition of ban, the accused company could not be able to import steel or any other thing from other countries, officials said.
