MUZAFFARGARH: More than Rs1.5 billion would be distributed among 85,000 growers across the district under Prime Minister Kissan package.
This was revealed by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Shoukat Ali Friday, while addressing a cheques distribution ceremony among the growers at Faisal stadium. He said that the country would be put on way to progress by promoting agriculture sector through Prime Minister Kissan package. He said that the growers are backbone in country’s economy while it was a mega kissan package by the incumbent government for small growers.
He said that four centres have been established across the district for the distribution of cheques among farmers. He said that the government was also providing relief to growers by offering Rs 500 subsidy on DAP fertilizer, GST reduced from 17 percent to seven percent and tax from 43 percent to 9 percent over importing agriculture machinery from abroad.
MPAs Mian Imran Qureshi and Ahmad Kareem Qaswar Langrial said that PM Kissan package for small growers was a revolutionary step and it would be helpful for prosperity of growers.
