FAISALABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to inaugurate the section 1 of Faisalabad-Gojra Motorway (M-4) on Monday.
According to Radio Pakistan, this four-lane section of Motorway M-4 will ultimately link the M-3 with M-5 and the cities of Faisalabad and Multan. Upon completion it would connect southern Punjab to Pakistan’s Motorway Network.
The initially Rs10.3 billion estimated project would be completed in Rs9.98 billion after redesigning of the project as some some flyovers have been converted into underpasses.
The M-4 will have four sections: (1) Faisalabad-Gojra (58 km), that will be inaugurated today, (2) Gojra-Shorkot (62 km), (3) Shorkot-Din Pur Khanewal (64 km) and (4) Khanewal-Multan (45 km), whereas two large bridges will be constructed on the River Ravi and Sadhnai Canal.
Construction of Faisalabad to Gojra section is completed. There are three interchanges on this route: Aminpur Interchange, Chiraghabad Interchange and Syed Mehdi Shah Interchange.
