LAHORE: After the Punjab government’s announcement of Rs15 cut per kg/litre in ghee and cooking oil prices, the poor masses are facing trouble in purchasing the commodity as the ghee mills have stopped supply to market.

The wholesalers are selling the commodity at Rs160 per kg, while the retailers are of the view that thely cannot sell the ghee and oil on reduced rates because they had purchased it on higher prices. They informed the media that they had deposited payments to the ghee and cooking oil manufacturers in advance, but could not get supply so far as a result there was severe shortage of the commodity in the city.
