On the government’s request the Pakistan Navy, the Karachi Port Trust, the Defence Housing Authority and the cantonments also despatched their fire engines, which was a great help, he added.

Katchi Abadis Minister Javed Nagori told the meeting that he had reached the affected locality at 4am and got the electricity and gas supply to the area disconnected.

CM’s Special Assistant Waqar Mehdi said that a thorough inquiry into the incident needed to be conducted to ascertain the cause of the blaze. He directed Nagori to personally monitor the relief efforts as well as look after the affected families, and the finance minister to release the funds to the city commissioner, who would provide Rs100,000 to every affected family.

On the other hand, Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz has announced Rs1 million for each family.

Riaz has earlier showed his support with the flood and earthquake victims and the people who are facing malnutrition in Tharparkar.

Whereas, he was the first one to support Abdul Sattar Edhi after Edhi Centre was robbed. He also worked for the recovery of the Pakistanis from the captivity of the pirates.
