Rs20m recovered: Drive for recovery of tax dues geared up

ISLAMABAD: The Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR), Zone-III, Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar has geared up campaign for the recovery of tax dues from defaulters.

As per details, the Commissioner IR has issued directives to subordinate officers to initiate stern measures under Income Tax Ordinance 2001 as well as Sales Tax Act, 1990 to recover the defaulted taxes.

In this regard, officers of IR, Peshawar attached the bank accounts of Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) to recover long over-due government taxes and recovered Rs20 million from their accounts. Commissioner IR Zone-III Shahid Zaman as well as Additional Commissioner IR Shahid Mehboob have also warned all other defaulting taxpayers including government, semi-government institutions as well as individuals and businesses to pay their due taxes on time. Otherwise, coercive measures for recovery of government dues outstanding against them will be initiated.
