Rs23b investment mobilised: Smeda, Pak-Saudi Chamber join hands for boosting trade between Pak, S Arabia

LAHORE: TSmall and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) and Pak-Saudi Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PSJCCI) have joined hands for boosting trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In a bid to provide more regional integration, a joint meeting held at Smeda head office reviewed the potential of bilateral trade existing between the two countries. Smeda CEO Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry and PSJCCI President Mian Mahmoodul Hassan led the respective organisations in the meeting.

The meeting, while reviewing top items to be traded as export and import between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, identified cereals, gems, jewellery and plastic industry as the most potential areas for joint ventures.

Chaudhry said that Smeda, despite being a very lean government organisation, had contributed to the optimal level, adding, “Its services and projects have mobilised a total investment of Rs23 billion up till now.”
