ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), under the chairmanship of Sardar Ashiq Gopang, has taken serious notice of PPRA rules violations by Utility Store Corporation in purchase of items during the year 2004 to 2007
The audit official pointed out that USC had violated the PPRA rules in purchase items of worth over Rs2 billion. The committee members expressed displeasure for violating the rules.
Committee Chairman Sardar Ashiq Gopang said fraud in purchase of goods needs to be discouraged as it badly affects national exchequers. The committee also asked department of section industries and production to carry out detailed inquiry in this matter.
The parliamentary committee also settled the audit objections related the Ministry of Railways for the fiscal year 2007-08.
