Rs315b disbursed to over 5m families under BISP since 2008

ISLAMABAD: About Rs315 billion have been disbursed to over 5 million deserving families across the country under Benazir Income Support Programme since 2008.

Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan revealed this, while informing the National Assembly during question hour. He said that BISP is not a poverty reduction programme rather it is an income support programme to provide a minimum income package to the poor.
