Rs45/kg increase in 7 days: LPG rate soars to Rs150/kg, domestic cylinder at Rs1,750 in Lahore

LAHORE: The marketing companies have once again increased the rate of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs5 per kg, third time increase in seven days enhancing over all prices by Rs45 per kg without any official notification despite downward trend in international rates.

After increase, LPG was being sold at 130 per kg and domestic cylinder at Rs 1510 in Karachi, Rs150 per kg and domestic cylinder at Rs 1750 in Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Hyderabad and Sukkur, Rs 155 per kg and domestic cylinder at Rs 1810 in Mirpur, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Kohat, Peshawar and Bannu, Rs 180 per kg and domestic cylinder at Rs 2110 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Murree, Nathiagali, Azad Kashmir and FATA.

LPG marketing companies unilaterally made an unjustified raise of Rs.10 to 20 per kg in LPG prices. They said that govt does not increase the prices, adding that LPG price has been increased by Rs.45 per kg in just seven days. They said according to the rules of OGRA and LGP policy, gas should be kept available in the market at Rs 95 per kg. But the marketing companies were indulged in black marketing.
