Rs4677.487m allocated for Aviation Division

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has allocated Rs 4677.487 million for ten ongoing and three new development schemes of Aviation Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for next financial year 2018-19.

According to the budgetary document, an amount of Rs 3872.507 million has been reserved for the ongoing schemes, while Rs 804.980 for the new schemes.

Among the ongoing schemes a major amount of Rs 1800 million have been reserved for the New Gwadar International Airport, Gwadar, while Rs 859.690 million for Airport Security Force (ASF) accommodation at New International Airport (revised) and Rs 461 million for installation of Weather Surveillance Radar at Karachi.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 307.260 million has been allocated for the construction of Rain Water Harvesting Kasana Dam, Islamabad, Rs 250 million for acquisition of Land Construction/Establishment of Airport at Mansehra KPK, Rs 84.532 million for establishment of Specialized Medium Range Weather Forecasting Centre (SMRFC) and Strengthening of Weather Forecasting System.

Among the new projects an amount of Rs 675.980 million has been reserved for Extension/Upgradation of Bannu Airport for A-320/B-737 or Equivalent Aircraft Operation Phase-1 (Land Acquisition Bannu), while Rs 100 million and Rs 29 million have been earmarked for Strengthening of Early Warning System of Pakistan Meteorological Department and Installation of Weather Surveillance Radar at Multan respectively.
