LAHORE: It has been revealed that bank cheques worth over Rs563.2 million, belonging to industrialists, have been dishonored.
The audit report for the financial year, 2020-21, has made the revelation.
In this connection, the Public Accounts Committee-I on Saturday sought a relevant record for the confirmation of audit para.
The report has revealed that cheques were dishonoured under the head of payment of installments for industrial plots.
The report has raised an objection to the administration’s failure to collect the amounts of dishonored cheques from industrialists on time.
The report has recommended legal action against the industrialists in order to receive from them the amounts of dishonoured cheques.
