Rs7.99 cut in petrol prices: Rawalpindi transporters reduce fare from Rs11 to Rs32

RAWALPINDI: After another massive cut of Rs7.99 in petrol price, the public transporters have also decreased intercity fares to Rs32 for diesel and Rs29 for petrol-powered vehicles.

Rawalpindi Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Owais Manzoor said that due to decrease in price of petroleum products the fare of public transports has also been decreased in Rawalpindi.

As per new fare schedule, fare of first stage of intercity non Ac Diesel transport 0.79km intercity diesel stage 1: Rs11, stage 2: Rs15, stage 3: Rs19, stage 4: Rs23, stage 5: Rs28 and stage 6: Rs32.

While Intercity on petrol stage 1: Rs11, stage 2: Rs13, stage 3: Rs17, stage 4: Rs20, stage 5: Rs24 and stage 6: Rs29 has been fixed.

RTA Secretary Owais Manzoor Tarar said Transport authorities has issued new fare lists to transporters with the instructions to paste list prominently in the vehicles and also warned for strict action against violators. He said that mobile squads have been set up to check over charging of fare on different routes. In order to curb over charging help line under No 051-9270011 has been set up and prompt notice will be taken of every complaint.
