LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has attached the bank accounts of Royal Palm County Club due to tax evasion of Rs 85 million.
Sources told Customs Today that the FBR issued a number of notices to the Club, reminding the management to clear the outstanding tax amount at the earliest to avoid stern action. However, despite the notices, the management of the Royal Palm and County Club failed to clear outstanding tax amount. Sources told that after their failure, the FBR decided to freeze the bank accounts.
It is also necessary to mention here that as the current fiscal year has finished on June 30, 2017, the FBR teams are using all legal resources to recover outstanding tax amount from the defaulters. Sources told Customs Today that due to comprehensive strategy adopted by the FBR there are positive signs that all the Collectorates, which are falling under the jurisdiction of Customs Central Region, will achieve the assigned revenue collection targets set for the fiscal year 2016-17.
