AMSTERDAM: RTL Netherlands reported revenues for the second half of 2015 up 7 percent year-on-year to EUR 490 million, while EBITA fell almost 2 percent to EUR 101 million. RTL said revenue growth was led by a good performance at its channels, higher distribution revenues and more advertising income. The drop in EBITA was due to start-up losses at the VoD services RTL XL and Videoland and the new channel RTL Z. The end to MVNO Sizz also was a factor, the company said.
The broadcaster claims its channel market share rose to 32.7 percent in 2015 from 32.4 percent in 2014. Online video views rose 27 percent over the year to 857 million, equal to a monthly average of almost 60 million.
