RTO-I arrests steel factory owner on charges of tax evasion

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) Lahore has arrested a factory owner allegedly involved in tax evasion of millions of rupees.

Sources said that the owner of a steel factory located in Darogawala, Lahore, was involved in sales tax evasion of millions of rupees for many years.

They added that the RTO-I Lahore Inland Revenue (IR) team conducted a raid at the factory on the instructions of the authorities on the basis of initial investigation, and seized the record of the factory.

Sources also informed that the IR team arrested the factory owner and lodged an FIR against him.

They said that officials have started investigating the case to find out the amount of evaded tax.
